To highlight holistic care for women, blending Ayurveda, Yoga, and lifestyle practices to nurture physical and emotional health.
‘Bodhi Stree’ is a term inspired by the concept of the Bodhi Tree (also known as the Tree of Awakening) which was a large and ancient sacred fig tree (Ficus religiosa) located in Bodh Gaya, Bihar, India. Siddhartha Gautama, the spiritual teacher who became known as the Buddha, is said to have attained enlightenment or ‘Bodhi’ under it. Stree is the Sanskrit word for woman. The purpose of the programme is to help women discover their ‘strength inside out’
Vision: To leverage woman power for a better tomorrow.
Mission: To power and sustain a forum for women (anyone who identifies as a woman) to network, collaborate, inspire & get inspired to realize the best (Shakti) in them in all facets of life.
Modern women often juggle multiple roles at the cost of self-care, and hormonal health remains misunderstood and overlooked. This session ‘Women’s well-being through Ayurveda and Yoga’, addressed a neglected yet crucial aspect of women’s health.
The conversation centred around the fact that women, while balancing multiple roles, often compromise on self-care.
Dr Shrilata said that hormonal health is unique and dynamic across different life stages, but it receives little attention. Dr. Shrilata further enriched the discussion by offering an Ayurvedic lens on women’s health, tracing life-stage transitions, identifying patterns behind common concerns like PCOS and thyroid issues, and advocating a more balanced, mindful approach to diet and lifestyle. Her insights highlighted how returning to ancient, nature-based practices can nurture both body and mind amidst modern pressures.
