Brief Description -

In May 2025, Deepa Bhalerao, Head, Mental Health and DEIB, Sthir was invited as a panellist  for a session titled ‘Core Fundamental Humanitarian Spiritual Values of Hinduism/ Sanatan Dharma’ an Interfaith Dialogue, hosted by the Bharatiya Muslim Mahila Andolan BMMA). This session was part of the BMMA’s Second Ubharte Rehnuma Workshop, which brought together 40 youth from all over India, for an immersion in Indian philosophies, appreciation of all religions and a deeper understanding of the Islamic faith and values.

Deepa spoke about the essence of Sanatan Dharma, and the universal values that define it as espoused by the Vedas, the Upanishads and the Bhagavad Geeta. She enumerated the major traditions of Santan Dharma and underscored the eternal values of Ahimsa – Non-violence, Satyam – Truthfulness, Dana – Generosity, Karuna – Compassion, Sarva Bhuta Hita – Welfare of all beings, and Atma-Bodha – Self-awareness and unity.

The presentation was received with a lot of interest and many participants came forward to express their contentment that terminology which they were only vaguely aware of had finally been clarified and explained.

The conversation between the participants and the presenters made this session meaningful for both.
